COURSE OVERVIEW


The WSET Level 1 is a fantastic introductory wine course. We take you on a vinous journey around the world, packed full of exceptional quality wine tastings and food pairing exercises. It’s both educational and entertaining.

TASTINGS & INSTRUCTION


At the 1 day course you’ll be guided through tastings of benchmark wines. You’ll learn about the classic grapes. Our engaging and passionate instructors are highly qualified experts who are happy to answer all your questions. It’s fun, relaxed and you can sit back and enjoy the day.

CERTIFICATION


At the end of the course there is a 30 question multiple choice exam with a pass mark of 70%. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate which is a formal qualification in wine with international recognition, and a beautiful lapel pin. Many students frame their WSET certificates. So enroll today and fuel your passion.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

 

At the end of the course you will:

  • Know the fundamentals of how you grow
    grapes and make all types of wine;
  • Know how to taste and describe some
    different wine styles;
  • Be able to identify the major aromas and
    flavours in wine;
  • Be familiar with the key wine producing
    regions;
  • Know the theory of food and wine pairing
    and experience it through practical
    exercises.
Study Guide

Upon registration, students will be provided with material for Level 1.

Exam

 

The examination is restricted to information contained within the Level 1 study material.
At the end of the day of the course, students will be provided 45 minutes to answer 30 multiple choice questions.
Results are released approximately 6 – 8 weeks after the exam.
Students are required to achieve a grade of 70% to pass the Level 1 certification.
